IL DIRITTO MARITTIMO
is a quarterly journal, founded in 1899 by Francesco Berlingieri senior having as its programme the diffusion of the knowledge of maritime law and the promotion of its international unification: a programme that has been pursued during all the one hundred years of its life.
The Journal is divided in seven sections:
- DOCTRINE, with articles of Italian and foreign jurists in Italian and other languages (English, French and Spanish)
- JURISPRUDENCE, consisting of a section, wholly in the English language, with summaries of judgments on the interpretation and application of maritime law conventions, followed by sections with judgments of the EC Court of Justice, Italian Courts and Courts of other maritime Countries on maritime matters, all accompanied by commentaries or reference to precedents
- DEVELOPMENTS IN THE JURISPRUDENCE OF MARITIME COUNTRIES, with summaries of recent cases, each quarterly issue containing reports in respect of one or two maritime Countries
- CHRONICLES AND NOTES, with articles on matters of interest
- NEWS, with information on events of interests for jurists and for the maritime industry
- LEGISLATION, with maritime conventions, European, Italian and relevant foreign acts in maritime and related matters
